The downloadable leaflets, further down on this page, are FREE for anyone to use. All we ask is that publishers reprinting any in the Chiltern Society set provide clear credit to the Chiltern Society and note they are strictly NOT for resale.

Charlton Walk

6.7 miles with 505ft of ascent A moderate stile-free walk over rolling countryside. Gaining access through some kissing gates along the route will test your ingenuity!

The Chalk Hills Walk, Lilley

Short walk: 3.2 km (2 miles) up and down hill, no stiles, allow 1 hour.
Long route: 8 km (5 miles) rolling countryside, 2 stiles, allow 2 hours.
Start and finish: The Lilley Arms, Lilley.

Cassiobury Park

5 miles with 290ft of ascent.
A gentle walk with one easy climb. Woodland paths can be muddy at times.

Captain’s Wood Chesham

5.7 miles, with c140m of ascent.
An easy walk, with two gentle climbs and one steep descent.

Burnham Beeches Walk

3.5 miles with 210ft of ascent
Generally fairly dry paths, tracks and drives.
A few moderate hills but no stiles.

Bullocks Farm Walk

Moderate walk: 4½ miles (7.2km), common land, farmland and woodland, allow 2¼ hours.
Start and finish: Lane End Car Park or the Chequers Pub, Wheeler End Common.

Bulbourne Valley Water Walk

Short walk: 2 miles (3.5km) canal towpath, several stiles, allow 1 hour.
Long walk: 3½ miles (6km) rolling hills, no stiles, allow 2-3 hours.
Start and finish: Cow Roast Inn, near Tring HP23 5RF.

Brush Hill Walk

This 3 mile stile free walk takes in two Chiltern Society nature reserves that have some of the finest views in the area. 180m of ascent.

Brush Hill Wildlife Walks

Short walk: ½ miles (0.8km). Wheelchair friendly.
Long walk: 0.9 miles (1.5km), no stiles.
Wheelchair friendly.
Start and finish: Car park at Whiteleaf Hill.
