Little Hay and The Box Moor Trust

A great walk combining canal, chalk stream and woodland along with some lovely scenic views over the Bulbourne Valley.

Walks around Westbrook Hay

Westbrook Hay is 165 acres of mixed woodland and pasture owned by the Box Moor Trust. It features a choice of walk routes to suit all abilities

Hedgerley & Bulstrode Park

The walk starts from this picturesque village with its pond, woodlands and RSPB reserve. It travels to some historic sites which were once part of Bulstrode Estate.

Hambleden

This is a walk of contrasts. It climbs out of the historic village of Hambleden, continues through woodland and then offers magnificent views. It returns alongside the Hamble Brook, which recently saw the completion of a restoration project. The walker can choose between two options – both equally enjoyable.

Pyrton & Stoke Talmage

In October 2023, our South Chilterns Path Maintenance Volunteers replaced a series of stiles in Pyrton and Stoke Talmage with gates. This circular walk passes through the newly installed gates, while taking in the beauty of the area. Enjoy big skies and distant views in a very rural setting.

Ashley Green

This walk explores hidden corners of Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. It includes a ruined chapel, a moated farmhouse and a historic wood that the Chiltern Society helps to maintain

Burnham Beeches

For this walk we return to the scenic Burnham Beeches National Nature Reserve. It’s owned by the City of London. They describe it as one of Europe’s most important places for wildlife. There are optional routes of varying lengths.

Wheathampstead to Brocket Hall

A longer than usual walk that includes much local history, rolling countryside, the upper reaches of the River Lea and two lovely pubs.

Woodoaks Farm

This varied walk starts from a historic farm, enjoys sweeping views and looks at some important local history. You can finish the walk with some of the best cake in the area.
