All events will comply with government guidelines on Covid-19, applicable at the time.  If any Covid-19 outbreaks occur, or new restrictions are imposed, the event will be cancelled and a full refund given.

Ringing in the Chilterns Heritage Festival 2021

Bells will ring out to welcome the start of the 2021 Chilterns Heritage Festival. We are delighted that the Chiltern Branch of the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers are planning for some of the ancient Chiltern bell towers to ring out in celebration of the Festival. Bells have rung out across the Chilterns since medieval times and only been silenced during World War II and now during the Covid-19 lockdowns, although limited, ringing has recently resumed. Watlington Hoard Replica – Viewing (Open Afternoon)

The original Hoard, which dated back as far as Saxon/Viking times, was found in fields near to the town of Watlington in October 2015. It was not particularly large, but it contained 13 extremely rare 'Two Emperor' coins that are believed to represent Alfred the Great, King of Wessex (871-99AD).
