Stamp Collecting & Mike Consden

Milk bottle tops, beer mats, match boxes, coins – as children, nearly all of us collected one (or some) of these, but far and away the most popular collectable item was stamps. Stamp shops, approvals, school clubs, local societies, stamp fairs, kindly relatives, parents, neighbours, all made stamp collecting so easy to take up and pursue within the limits of our pocket money.
Were you, or are you still, a keen stamp collector? If so, you’ll really enjoy an hour or so in the company of Mike Consden who has, for many years, enjoyed collecting and trading stamps and will be presenting a fascinating talk about his life in stamps, why we collect them, highlighting some special examples that are dear to him and probably revealing that your precious collection is of sentimental value only! But who knows…..?
He has been running a postal auction business buying and selling collectable specimens for many years and has built-up a cherished collection of his own.
