The Wendover Woods Conservation Group, working in partnership with the Forestry Commission, BBOWT, and other conservation groups in the Chilterns, carry out a wide range of woodland conservation tasks from tree planting to woodland thinning and footpath enhancement to invasive species management to help enhance the conservation value and access opportunities on a wide range of sites.   Meeting place: Various - to be confirmed New volunteers welcome. Ewelme Watercress Beds Conservation Group carry out a wide range of tasks to help enhance the conservation value of this unique Local Nature Reserve - a haven for a wide variety of rare and interesting wildlife. New volunteers are always welcome - all equipment and training is provided but tasks often involve working in shallow water so please bring your wellies! Contact Site Manager Tom Stevenson for more details. Workdays (or more correctly work-halfdays) are held on the first Saturday and the third Wednesday of each month.

An Introduction to Map Reading

Organised Walk – Mill End, Buckinghamshire

Meet at the CP situated on the west side of the Mill End-Skirmett road off the A4155, west of Medmenham  (RG9 3BG). We head first up the Rotten Row minor road, before picking up a path with glorious views of The Hambleden valley. The Grangelands conservation group, working in partnership with BBOWT, carry out a range of conservation activities to manage this important SSSI chalk grassland site. Conservation tasks include scrub clearance, fencing repairs, wildlife monitoring, access improvements and invasive species management which help enhance the conservation and archaeological value of the site.
