Organised Walk – Great Hampden, Buckinghamshire

Meet at the Hampden Arms, Great Hampden  HP16 9RQ. Please park in the ‘overflow’ car park at the rear of the pub. This 6 mile walk includes  Hampden church, Hampden House, Lacey Green windmill and Loosley Row, some fields, some woodland, some views , several stiles but only a couple of “upward gradients”.We need to pre order food before setting off. Tree Identification Course

Learn to identify trees in the Chilterns with woodland expert John Morris, Director of the Chilterns Woodlands Project. The course will begin at Radnage Village Hall before heading to our nearby ancient woodland, Bottom Wood where we will find a large range of trees and shrubs and collect leaves etc for identification during the afternoon. John will also give an illustrated presentation on identifying trees and shrubs in the Chilterns during the indoor afternoon session. Price includes some hot drinks…

The Captain’s Wood & Chesham Bois Conservation Group, working in partnership with a number of interested parties is striving to evolve and implement a woodland management plan to enhance this popular beech wood on the outskirts of Chesham to ensure its long term survival as a local nature reserve and well-loved resource.
