The Hockridge and Pancake Woods Conservation Groups, working in partnership with the owner of these woods, The Royal Forestry Society undertakes a wide range of conservation tasks from tree planting and woodland management, footpath enhancements and clearing to invasive species management to enhance the conservation value and access opportunities in these important commercially managed woods. Country Ramble and Pub Lunch – Studham Common

An easy stile free walk that starts from Studham Common and visits the beautiful tree cathedral at Whipsnade. Along the way we pass by a 16th century church and the edge of Whipsnade Zoo. The walk is 5 miles with around a 100m of ascent and is on good surfaces. Some of the paths and tracks will be muddy so appropriate footwear must be worn. Chiltern Society Herts Conservation Volunteers

The Hertfordshire Conservation Volunteers are one of the Chiltern Society's 'roving' wildlife conservation groups. We work in West Herts and parts of Bucks and Beds, on the 2nd Wednesday and one Sunday later in each month. Our programme has as much variety, of site, work, and habitat as possible, but with repeat visits to the most worthwhile places. Organised Walk – Ringshall, Hertfordshire

Meet at the large NT car park situated on the minor road west of RIngshall (signposted Marsworth / Ivinghoe from the B4506), nearest post code HP4 1NE.  A 5 mile walk which progresses through the beautiful Ashridge Estate to the Bridgewater Monument.  From there we drop down to the outskirts of Aldbury before returning to the start via open country above Beacon Road.  One steep descent, two brief climbs, one fairly steep, one more gentle.  No stiles.
