Our walks programme

We organise a popular programme of walks throughout the year, designed to improve both physical and mental health. Anyone is welcome to join us on our half-day walks, longer walks or occasional special interest walks.

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, we are limiting numbers to a maximum of 15 attendees on each walk, including the walk leader. To participate on the walk, places must be booked prior to the walk with priority given to Chiltern Society members. These organised walks are exempt from the new Government restrictions.

Sunday Walks - Registration will open at 3pm on the Friday of the week prior to the walk and will close on the Friday before the walk at midday.

Wednesday Walks - Registration for both 'Groovers' and 'Movers' groups will open at 3pm on the previous Wednesday and close at midday on the day before (Tuesday).

We all need to take extra steps to stay safe. Please follow safety advice given by the walk leader, including the latest guidelines on physical distancing. You are advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear for the conditions. Bring your own food and plenty of water, avoid car sharing, and you are strongly urged to bring your own alcohol based hand sanitiser and face covering.

If you develop COVID-19 symptoms after the walk, please let us know. To allow for track and trace, your details will be kept for 21 days before deletion.

For full details about our walks programme, please see below.

These walks are open to all members.  Non-members are welcome to join us as guests for two or three walks, though if you walk with the group regularly you will be expected to join the Chiltern Society to support our work in caring for the Chilterns.  Join here.

If you’re interested in becoming a walks leader please contact our Walks Coordinator Paul Cooke, on 01494 778024, or email him here.
