Meet at Verulamium Museum Car Park, St Michaels Street, St Albans, AL3 4SW (4 hours £5.40).
A 5.6 mile semi-urban historical walk to Verulamium Park and Roman remains, the River Ver to Sopwell Tudor ruins and onward to the Alban Way and a nature reserve. We return along some quiet side streets with WW1 wall memorials, before passing the impressive Cathedral and Verulamium Lake. Total ascent of 260ft including one flight of steps and no stiles.
