Meet at The War Memorial on Penn Street Common (nr Amersham), HP7 0PX. Parking on the roadside opposite the memorial, or at Penn Wood car park by the church, or by the Squirrel PH if lunching there.
A 5.7-mile undulating walk with 400 ft of ascent and no stiles, with an option to shorten for Groovers. The walk heads off to Winchmore Hill, then on by the grounds of Penn House to reach Penn Bottom. The return is via the ancient woodlands of Common and Penn Woods.
Lunch options at Penn Street or Winchmore Hill, but recommend pre-booking (due to the time of year).
