Greatmoor Energy from Waste – Overview and Tour
6 February, 2025 at 10:00 am until 12:00 pm
£7.50 per adult.
Greatmoor Energy from Waste takes household non-recyclable waste from throughout Buckinghamshire, diverts it from landfill and uses it to generate enough electricity to power 18% of homes in the county. The visit will begin with a presentation in Greatmoor’s fully accessible visitor centre, which is designed to inform about the benefits of using waste to produce renewable energy, as well as educating about waste reduction, reuse and recycling. This will be followed by a tour where you’ll see waste being delivered, giant grab cranes moving it and then the waste burning in the grate, before visiting the turbine hall and experiencing the draught under the condenser fans.
Tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
