Woodland Management at Bottom Wood

On Monday 27th September we will be commencing the removal of some trees at our Bottom Wood site.  The main objective of the work is to manage the ash dieback in the woodland which is effecting a large proportion of the ash. This causes the trees to deteriorate rapidly, drop branches and ultimately die and fall over. The work we are undertaking is to manage the risk to the public and safeguard the long term health of the woodland. As part of this work we will also be thinning the small conifer plantation allowing space for the planting and natural regeneration of native broadleaf species.

The work is approved by the Forestry Commission who have issued us with a felling licence.
