Urgent – Volunteers required for Tool Maintenance

Volunteer(s) wanted for hazardous work, no wages, bitter tea, long months of complete rustiness, constant fixing, safe fingers doubtful, honour and recognition in case of success.

Do you feel like contributing some time to the maintenance and upkeep of essential equipment vital to the ongoing work of our conservation groups and path maintenance teams? We are urgently in need of a few (possible job share) Quartermaster’s to oversee the care, storage, and inventory of the CS’ tools and equipment. This will include hand tools, power tools (although not necessary), and other equipment used in the field requiring cleaning, sharpening, mending, cleaning waders and logging of necessary repairs. Working closely with the team leaders and Ranger, to ensure the Volunteer Shed and its stored items are kept in working order and ready to be used by our volunteers in the field.  This will be based at our new volunteer shed, next to our office at the White Hill Centre, Chesham. Limited responsibility also required for the maintenance of our newly improved trailer.  Training offered if required.
