Secretary wanted at Ewelme Watercress Beds

Wellies not always needed! The Watercress Centre and Local Nature Reserve is owned and managed by the Chiltern Society through a local management committee. The commercial production of watercress ended some years ago, but the beds remain as an important part of our cultural heritage.  The committee oversees the work of the site and thus offers an opportunity to become involved for those interested in nature, sustainability, site maintenance, and conservation, or in attracting visitors to the site. The centre welcomes visitors on a monthly basis to Open Days and we know from their feedback that visitors to the site also visit and support the shop, the pub, and the Church, so they also contribute to the economy of the village.

Committee members are usually members of the Chiltern Society. They meet no more than four times a year at the centre, and the committee is seeking a new Secretary.  The role involves arranging meetings, drawing up agendas in consultation with the chair, attending meetings and writing up the minutes, with a focus on action points rather than verbatim records.

If you are Interested in taking on this role please contact the Chair, Alison Barraclough at barracloughalison@gmail.com or apply below and we will get back to you.
