Whether it is a sponsored hike, cycle or plant or bake sale, doing something to raise money for our charity can help connect with your community, bring friends and family together to share your passion for a cause you care about, and of course help protect the Chilterns.
If you’re inspired to turn a hobby in to a fundraiser for the Chiltern Society, you’ll find advice and inspiration in this handy guide.

Every penny you raise will make a difference, whether it’s £10 from a quiz night or £1000 from a sponsored run:
- £10 could help people enjoy our sites and footpaths, while protecting fragile habits, by paying for a pair of footpath posts and markers.
- £50 could buy an owl nesting box
- £125 could cover the costs of training and setting up four new planning volunteers to scrutinise and challenge the worst excesses of developments.
- £750 could replace an old petrol-powered brushcutter with an electric one.

What is easyfundraising?
Easyfundraising turns your everyday online shopping into free donations for your favourite cause. Just start your online shopping first at easyfundraising, then shop as normal. Their retailers will then make a small donation to say ‘thank you’. They have more than 7,400 shops to choose from, including John Lewis, Asda, Amazon, Tesco, Currys, eBay and Apple…
How do I use it?
- Start at easyfundraising.org.uk and type ‘Chiltern Society’ into the ‘search for a cause’ bar.
- You’ll then be directed to the next page which will display how much has been raised for us via easyfundrasing so far. Click ‘Support us for free’.
- You’ll be asked to register using your email address.
- Once registered, you’ll be asked if you’d like a ‘donation reminder’ to be added to your toolbar. This is up to you! You can either select ‘Add’ or ‘No thanks’.
- That’s it! You can now select the retailer of your choice and when you check out, a donation will automatically be made to the Chiltern Society at no extra cost to you.
