The Chilterns area covers 650sq miles in the arc from Berkshire in the South-West up to North Hertfordshire. The area is becoming further under threat from development with nearly 200,000 houses planned across the Chilterns and its immediate environs. With housing comes the necessary infrastructure and pressure on water management and the environment, its habitats and biodiversity.
In the Chiltern Society we care passionately about conserving and enhancing our environment and the Society’s Planning Group would welcome your help to monitor, campaign and scrutinise proposed developments in your local area.
We are a team of 25 friendly volunteers, but there are area of the Chilterns where are coverage could be strengthened. If you care about the Chilterns, help us by joining our group. No planning experience is needed, just a passion to protect our precious environment. We provide training and have retained professional planners to support the team. We also run social events through the year. If you feel you can help, please contact us at getinvolved@chilternsociety or complete the form below.
We look forward to hearing from you
