The Chilterns Conservation Board is an independent statutory body which was established by Parliament in 2004 to conserve and promote the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
As a small organisation covering a big landscape, the Board works closely with many partners, a principal one being the Chiltern Society. This close partnership was cemented by an official Accord between the organisations in 2015, which outlines many shared objectives.
The Conservation Board has two statutory purposes
- To conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Chilterns AONB.
- To increase the understanding and enjoyment of the special qualities of the AONB.
