Chilterns Heritage Festival Committee Members
Location: Meetings held in Chesham, but assistance may be needed at various locations across the Chilterns
Hours: Usually 2 hours per month, but more may be required in the run up to, and during, the Festival fortnight from 19th September – 4th October
The Chiltern Society Heritage Festival Committee has successfully organised and run the Chilterns Heritage Festival over the last two years and is now planning a brilliant programme of events for the 2020 Festival which will take place from 19th September – 4th October.
Members of this friendly committee, which is comprised of both volunteers and staff, discuss event ideas and agree logistics, decide how the Festival budget is allocated, discuss marketing strategy, analyse the successes of previous Festival activity and deal with ad hoc issues as they arise to ensure that the Festival runs smoothly.
The role primarily involves attending monthly 2 hour meetings to ensure that arrangements are running smoothly and on time. There will be regular contact with the highly motivated staff team responsible for delivering the Festival, and at times, some travel may be required to and from the event locations for recces/ meetings with event hosts (all expenses will be reimbursed). There are also great opportunities to marshal a number of the Festival events, giving you the opportunity to enjoy exclusive visits to many iconic and highly coveted locations for free – a real perk of the job!
The team always welcomes new members and, in particular, would be really pleased to work with a new volunteer who has an interest in local heritage and maybe lives in the northern part of the Chilterns (although this is not compulsory).
The main benefit to you is the huge satisfaction you’ll gain from helping to organise and deliver the biggest annual event in the charity’s calendar as well as working with a friendly, proactive and easy-going team of people.
