After a short introduction we will have a walk along the river suitable for families with young children. We will spot wildlife and look at the features of the river as we walk. Organised Walks – Cow Common, Oxon (‘Groovers’ – a casual, easy-paced walk)
Meet at the Cow Common car park, on the edge of Ewelme (by the easterly junction of Parson’s Lane and High Street), OX10 6PG. A 5.1 mile undulating walk with 485 ft of ascent and no stiles giving wonderful views of the Chiltern countryside. The walk includes Swincombe Down which has a short fairly steep descent. In Ewelme itself there are some beautiful Alms Houses and the gravestone of Jerome K Jerome in the village churchyard. Energy from Waste Facility – Overview & Tour
Energy from Waste takes household non-recyclable waste from throughout Buckinghamshire, diverts it from landfill and uses it to generate enough electricity to power 18% of the homes in the county. This visit will begin with a presentation in Greatmoor’s fully accessible Visitor Centre, which is designed to promote and inform visitors about the benefits of using waste to produce renewable energy, as well as educating about waste reduction, reuse and recycling.
