After a short introduction we will have a walk along the river suitable for families with young children. We will spot wildlife and look at the features of the river as we walk. Meet at the Cow Common car park, on the edge of Ewelme (by the easterly junction of Parson’s Lane and High Street), OX10 6PG. A 5.1 mile undulating walk with 485 ft of ascent and no stiles giving wonderful views of the Chiltern countryside. The walk includes Swincombe Down which has a short fairly steep descent. In Ewelme itself there are some beautiful Alms Houses and the gravestone of Jerome K Jerome in the village churchyard. Park and meet at the large woodland car park, off-road turn-off along Beacon Road (opposite NT cottages), 250 metres in from the Ringshall B4506 junction, HP4 1NE. A lovely 6 mile walk with 520 feet of elevation heading from Ringshall to Ivinghoe Beacon and its tremendous views via Ringshall Coppice and The Coombe. Returning via Duncombe Terrace and the Ashridge Estate. No stiles but one flight of steps to descend. If you have never seen glow worms before, come and witness this magical display of nature's very own fairy lights with expert John Tyler. This event is also taking place on 2nd July. All events will comply with government guidelines on Covid-19, applicable at the time. If any Covid-19 outbreaks occur, or new restrictions are imposed, the event will be cancelled and a full refund given.

Energy from Waste Facility – Overview & Tour
Energy from Waste takes household non-recyclable waste from throughout Buckinghamshire, diverts it from landfill and uses it to generate enough electricity to power 18% of the homes in the county. This visit will begin with a presentation in Greatmoor’s fully accessible Visitor Centre, which is designed to promote and inform visitors about the benefits of using waste to produce renewable energy, as well as educating about waste reduction, reuse and recycling. From the station we walk up to Berkhamsted Hill with great views down to the ruins of Berkhamsted castle. Joining the common we continue through the woodlands passing the WWI trenches to reach Frithsden Beeches, and returning across farmland to Castle Hill. Meet at Cadmore End (near High Wycombe) in Church Lane opposite the village school HP14 3PE. Ample parking available on the verge. This is a 6 mile hilly walk to Skirmett with a mix of open countryside and Chiltern woodland, which also passes along some lovely wild flower meadows. We will go through Turville which was the location for The Vicar of Dibley, as well as Fingest with its interesting Norman church. One stile and two steady uphill sections.
