Meet and park at the front of Studley Green Garden Centre, HP14 3UX (on the A40 between Piddington and Stokenchurch). A hilly but not steep 5.2 mile walk from Studley Green to St Mary’s Radnage via Beacons Bottom. We will pause at St Mary's Church to see the restored wall paintings. Greatmoor Energy from Waste takes household non-recyclable waste from throughout Buckinghamshire, diverts it from landfill and uses it to generate enough electricity to power 18% of the homes in the county. This visit will begin with a presentation in Greatmoor’s fully accessible Visitor Centre, which is designed to promote and inform visitors about the benefits of using waste to produce renewable energy, as well as educating about waste reduction, reuse and recycling. The aim of the course is to enable you, when walking a new route on an OS Explorer map or the OS app, to relax and enjoy the scenery rather than having your nose glued to the map/screen. Meet at the free car park on the south west side of Hill Road / Chinnor Hill where crossing the Ridgeway / Upper Icknield Way (nearest post code OX39 4BB). A 6 mile scenic walk that takes in parts of the Icknield Way and Chiltern Way as well as woodland paths. The escarpment will ensure a couple of challenging hills with a total of 1000 ft of ascent / descent. A 6 mile, three stiles walk, necessarily hilly to catch the wonderful new views over Turville Valley, since the replanting of a swathe of Park Wood.
