The Captain’s Wood & Chesham Bois Conservation Group, working in partnership with a number of interested parties is striving to evolve and implement a woodland management plan to enhance this popular beech wood on the outskirts of Chesham to ensure its long term survival as a local nature reserve and well-loved resource. North Chilterns Conservation Volunteers "North Chilterns Conservation Volunteers are one of the Chiltern Society's 'roving' wildlife conservation groups. We work on a variety of wildlife sites across the North Chilterns supporting our partners in practical habitat management works from grassland and woodland management to invasive species control and access improvements. Training, tools and equipment is provided and all welcome so please get in touch if you would like come along or find out a bit more.

Organised Walk – Sarratt, Hertfordshire

Meet at The Cock Inn, Church Road, Sarratt, WD3 6HH. A scenic 6 mile walk along the Chess valley  going from Sarratt to Latimer, then back via Chenies.  A couple of fairly steep  hills but no stiles. Explorer 172 GR 040985 CS Map 29

The CCCV are one of the Chiltern Society's 'roving' wildlife conservation groups and we work across the Central Chilterns. Our programme has as much variety, of site, work, and habitat as possible, working across woodland, grasslands and wetland habitat. The group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month and work from 10am – 1pm. New volunteers are always welcome. For more information, please contact the group leader.

Hockeridge and Pancake Woods Open Day

Organised Walk – Chipperfield Common, Hertfordshire

Meet at the car park next to the church on Chipperfield Common WD4 9BS, for a 5.8 miles walk to Sarratt, Church End and the Chess Valley  ( walk no 27 in the 50 Great Walks Book).  One steep hill ascending back up the valley plus 5 stiles.
