Rectory Lane Cemetery – Family Friendly Storytelling Performance & Workshop
£8 – £17
Family friendly workshop suitable for children ages 7 to 14 with under 12s supervised by an adult.
Join renowned storyteller Eleanor Buchan as she leads you on a journey into the mysterious, intriguing and downright scandalous true stories hidden beneath the headstones of Rectory Lane Cemetery, Berkhamsted. At this family friendly workshop you will not only experience an intimate, promenade performance woven through the gravestones, but you’ll also have a chance to go behind the scenes of the story-making process and to find out how history can be re-made through live performance.
This performance will be accompanied by a workshop entitled ‘Inhabiting History’: a crash-course introduction to storytelling suitable for children aged 7-14 and adults with a strong sense of play. Through active games, word-play and a guided adventure around the gravestones of the cemetery, participants will learn the skills to dive into their imaginations and dream up stories inspired by the landscape they see around them. A workshop for all budding storytellers.
