Private Tour of John Lewis Partnerships Odney Grounds (Morning)
SORRY – THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
John Spedan Lewis first purchased land in Cookham in 1926, with the revolutionary purpose of creating a country club retreat for the Partners that worked in his busy London shops. Opened to Partners in 1927 as The Odney Club, we invite you to join a walking tour of its grounds, exploring the history of the Club and its beautiful gardens.
Hopefully by September the John Lewis Partnership Heritage Centre will have reopened and you will be able to visit before or after your tour (to be confirmed). The Heritage Centre opened in 2013 and displays a huge array of the iconic brand’s artefacts and historical memorabilia, including a vast 30,000 piece textile collection.
Unfortunately we will be unable to access the bar or the restaurant at the Odney Club as it is for members only but depending on Covid restrictions you may be able to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds should you wish. Full details to be confirmed nearer the time.
This event is also running in the afternoon, see here.
All events will comply with government guidelines on Covid-19, applicable at the time. If any Covid-19 outbreaks occur, or new restrictions are imposed, the event will be cancelled and a full refund given.
