Meet at the National Trust’s  Ashridge Visitor Centre (free parking), end of Monument Drive, off the B4506 near Berkhamsted, HP4 1LT.

A 5.8 mile walk down through Ashridge woods to Aldbury, then a stretch along the Grand Union Canal and returns back uphill through the woods. Total ascent of 490ft/150m.
