Frogmore Paper Mill Tour
SORRY – THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
Join this fascinating guided mill tour devoted to the history of papermaking. Frogmore Paper Mill offers a uniquely active visitor experience.
You can make your own handmade paper, see unique artisan papers formed before your eyes, on our 1902 Fourdrinier No.4 paper machine. View the 1895 Fourdrinier No.2 and recently installed, Cylinder Mould Machine (No.5) invented by John Dickinson himself; yes, he of Basildon Bond fame. The history, the connections and innovations that started in the Gade Valley from 1803 onwards, together with the 2,000+ year story of paper and the magic of paper production, never fails to fascinate all ages.
The Trust will also operate their recently refurbished canal boat, The Bryan Donkin, for a trip along to the Grand Union Canal and back again. In addition there is the paper shop, a pleasant riverside café, gallery and museum to explore.
A tea or coffee will be served on arrival and included in the price.
