A Walk on the Chalk – Dunstable Downs (Sat 17th Sept, 9.30am-1pm)

17 September, 2022 at 9:30 am until 1:00 pm

£5.00

Join Haydon Bailey, Geological Adviser to the Chiltern Society and Chairman of the Hertfordshire Geological Society, for a walk around part of the perimeter of Kensworth Quarry, Dunstable.  In addition to having a pleasant walk, you will “see” the underlying geology & how this affects water flow through the chalk down the Ver valley and will demonstrate that not all chalk is the same.

The walk will take approximately 3.5 hours and will start and finish at the National Trust Centre, Dunstable Downs.

NB: Please be aware that the first part of the walk into the Kensworth Nature Reserve includes a short steep slope which may be muddy. It’s also the same route back out.

All events will comply with government guidelines on Covid-19, applicable at the time.  If any Covid-19 outbreaks occur, or new restrictions are imposed, the event will be cancelled and a full refund given.
