Why take a day out of the office?

At Chiltern Society we are proud to be a volunteer-led charity. It means our priorities are delivered by people who truly care about the work they are doing. They are responsible for running our 12 sites, as well as carrying out hundreds of conservation tasks across countless waterways, pathways, woodland and open access land. Our finest achievements are down to the hard work of our volunteers, such as the creation of the Chiltern Way, restoration of the oldest smock windmill in the country, planting thousands of trees and improving miles of footpaths.

We would love you to be a part of our volunteer family by taking part in a team volunteering day. Working together to care for the Chilterns for you means making an invaluable contribution to your local community and for us means growing support for our charitable work.

Encourage your employees to live your brand values in a whole new way by organising a team volunteering day with us. Both you and your business will benefit from a fun and interactive day in the beautiful Chilterns.

Employees often see their workplace from the same perspective – the window of their car or office. A volunteer day gives them the opportunity to see a whole new perspective of their place of work. Creativity and productivity will be boosted by time spent outdoors. The beautiful Chiltern Society provides plenty of inspiration!

You’ll have a unique opportunity to connect with the community in which you work and make a positive and lasting impact for the future.

Working on unfamiliar tasks together will mean your team goes back to the office with a more collaborative mindset.

What you can expect from the day…

Our days are typically held at one of our 12 nature reserves but could also support the work of our many partners. We offer you the option to be flexible on the type of day you would like to have depending on your objectives, however here are some typical days.

Seeing the wood from the trees at Bottom Wood

Learn about specialist techniques such as felling and coppicing to encourage selective growth of trees.

Appreciating new perspectives around the Chilterns

Work together to improve access for the community by building gates and benches, way-marking and surveying paths.

In at the deep end at Ewelme Watercress Beds

Help with waterbed maintenance including creating channels to encourage diverse and unique wildlife.
